Trek through Langtang and Gosaikunda reveals the hidden valleys of Langtang and a holy lake Gosaikunda which is at a height of 4600m. The trek starts following the Trisuli river which is at the north of Kathmandu that leads through Trisuli Bazaar and Dhunche to Syabrubensi – a Sherpa village lying at the edge of the Lantang National Park. Trekking through the national park to the end of the Langtang valley offers several scenic mountains to view at. Some of the snow capped mountains in the region are Langtang Lirung (7,345m.), Gangchenpo (5,846m.), and Dorje Lakpa (6,966m.). At Langtang, you can find the primary inhabitation of the Tamang ethnic tribe. The trek is the combination of remote and spectacular valleys of Langtang and Gosaikunda.
TRIP DETAILS
Day 01: Arrival
Upon arrival to Kathmandu Airport, our representative will drop you to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02: Visit to Kathmandu Valley
After having early morning breakfast at the hotel, we move for sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. The sightseeing includes the most popular historic places in Kathmandu such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhhanath, and Pashupatinath. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 03: Drive to Syabru Besi (2100m) – 9 hours drive
From Kathmandu, we drive our way to Syabru Besi through the scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas. We pass through the bank of Trishuli River and catch glimpses of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills and also move past Dhunche. We then arrive at Syabru Besi. Overnight at lodge or camp.
Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel (2748m) – 4 to 5 hours walk
We move through the dense forests and plant species like oaks, maple, alder and bamboo. You will also get to see martin, wild boar, langur monkey, red panda and Himalayan black bear on our way. Ascending further, we cross Langtang River and reach Lama Hotel. Overnight at lodge or camp.
Day 05: Trek to Langtang village (3430m) – 3 to 4 hours walk
We climb uphill steadily through Langtang gorge and rhododendron forest to reach Ghoratabela, which is actually the end point of the main forest area where an army post is located. We go through the easy climb into alpine country to reach Langtang valley. Overnight at lodge or camp.
Day 06: Trek to Kyangjim Gompa (3049m) – 5 to 6 hours walk
We continue our trail to Kyangjin Gompa, where a government rest house and a cheese factory exists. Overnight at lodge or camp.
Day 07: Rest/Exploration day
We explore the valley above the Gompa where we can see Langtang Lirung glacier and Yala Peak. Ganesh Himal and the Ganjala Himal also appears wonderful. Overnight at lodge or camp.
Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel (2470m) – 5 to 6 hours walk
We descend from Kyangjin Gompa to Lama Hotel retracing our route via Ghora Tabela. Overnight at lodge in Lama Hotel or camp.
Day 09: Trek to Thulo Syabru – 5 to 6 hours walk
We now trek back to Syabru moving downhill and uphill along the way. Overnight at lodge or camp.
Day 10: Trek to Sing Gompa (3250m) – 4 to 5 hours walk
The uphill walk leads to a ridgeline and offers the Annapurna views. During spring, flowers and fresh cheese adds glory on our trek. Overnight at lodge or camp.
Day 11: Trek to Gosainkunda (4300m) – 5 to 6 hours walk
Following the rugged trail, we catch Himal Chuli, Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. Also, we can view the Annapurna ranges and Langtang Lirung. We pass through few huts and small ridge to reach Gosainkunda. There are around dozen of lakes here at Gosainkunda, the main three being Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosainkunda. It is believed that the lake was created by Lord Shiva when he pierced a glacier with his trident in order to obtain water to quench his thirst after having swallowed a poison that threatened to destroy the whole world. Overnight at lodge or camp.
Day 12: Trek to Gopte (3750m) – 5 to 6 hours walk
We first climb to cross Laurebina La pass at an elevation of 4610m. We will observe fascinating views all around and then we descend to Bhera Goth. Further, we walk downhill to reach Phedi and then to Gopte. Overnight at lodge or camp.
Day 13: Trek to Tharepati (3600m) – 5 to 6 hours walk
We climb to Tharepati via rhododendron forest. You can view goats, sheep and cattle are brought for grazing. Overnight at lodge or camp.
Day 14: Trek to Gul Bhanjyang (2130m) – 5 to 6 hours walk
We enter the forest route and descend to Magen Goth. From here, the trail climbs to Mere Danda and continue to Kutumsang. We then arrive at Gul Bhanjyang, a delightful classic hill village. Overnight at lodge or camp.
Day 15: Trek back to Chisapani – 6 to 7 hours walk
We follow our way to Chisapani with our final glimpses on the Himalayan range from Manaslu to Everest. Overnight at lodge or camp.
Day 16: Trek to Sundarijal and drive to Kathmandu
We climb through a small pass at Burlang Bhanjyang and watch the snow peaks while descending to Sundarijal. We then drive back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
