General Information Gokyo via Renjo Pass

One of the stunning mountain areas is Gokyo valley via Renjo La pass in the Everest region of Nepal. The Everest Renjo-La pass trek is a short route trek, but you can discover unlimited beauties of the Everest region in the limited time. The Gokyo peak itself is the highlight of the trek. The Renjo La pass offers the great view of Gokyo lake on one side and Rermo Pokhari Lake on the other side with the blue turquoise color which looks so magical. Dedicate your time to the breathtaking mountain scenery of Everest (8848m), Makalu, Cho Oyo (8153m) and Lhotse (8511m), to name but a few. The trail through the Renjo La Pass, which is at a height of 5345m finally ends at Lukla via Thame, and Namche.

TRIP DETAILS

Day 01: Arrival

Upon arrival to Kathmandu Airport, our representative will drop you to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Fly to Lukla; Trek to Phakding (2652m) – 2 to 3 hours walk

We catch our early morning flight to Lukla, which is one of the most renowned mountain airstrip in the world. Upon reaching here, we have our lunch and trek our way to Phakding. Overnight at lodge/teahouse.

Day 03: Trek to Namche (3440m) – 4 to 5 hours walk

We start our trek to Namche with uphill climb. From here, you will catch the first glimpses of Mount Everest along with Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. Namche is the gateway to Everest region and a major bazaar in Khumbu region. Everest Saturday a big market feast is held. Overnight at lodge/teahouse.

Day 04: Trek to Khumjung (3700m) – 2 to 3 hours walk

We climb uphill via Syangboche and stop to see the Hotel Everest View. From here, we descend to Khumjung, a Sherpa village. The village offers spectacular views of Amadablam, Lhotse, Lhotse- sar, Everest and more. Overnight at lodge/teahouse.

Day 05: Trek to Deboche via Tengboche (3750m) – 4 to 5 hours walk

With a combination of uphill and downhill walk, we move past Phunki (a small village) and stop at Tengboche for lunch. Tengboche Monastery (or Thyangboche Monastery), also known as Dawa Choling Gompa is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery of the Sherpa community. It is situated at a height of 3867m, being the largest one in Khumbu region. The monastery was built in 1916 and has its strong link to mother monastery called Rongbuk Monastery. The views of Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku are amazing to go through.

After spending quality time here, we descend to Deboche. Overnight at lodge/teahouse.

Day 06: Trek to Phortse via Pangboche (3900m) – 4 to 5 hours walk

Walking to Phortse, we move past Pangboche, where we have our lunch. We then stop for visiting monasteries here along with some eye catching views of Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku peaks. We then walk to reach Phortse. Overnight at lodge/teahouse.

Day 07: Trek to Dole (4038m) – 3 to 4 hours walk

We walk through the forest areas to reach Dole. Upon reaching Dole, we walk towards the ridges. Overnight at lodge/teahouse.

Day 08: Trek to Machhermo (4410m) – 4 to 5 hours walk

We climb through the juniper forests to reach Lhabarna. We then move past the village and crossing sandy spurs and arrive at Machhermo. Overnight at lodge/teahouse.

Day 09: Rest Day/Exploration

Day 10: Trek to Gokyo (4750m) – 5 to 6 hours walk

Our trail leads to Kantega and Pangka. We then reach Gokyo, a collection of stone houses and walled pastures and large shores of lake. Overnight at lodge/teahouse.

Day 11: Explore Gokyo. Visit Gokyo Lakes.

Today, we explore Gokyo Lakes and visit for upto fifth lake. Gokyo Lake is amazing with its purity and azure reflection. We will also get change to watch Ngozumba Tse glacier from near. Having spent enough time here, we return to Gokyo. Overnight at lodge/teahouse or camp.

Day 12: Explore Gokyo. Visit Gokyo Ri (5357m)

Our destination today is Gokyo Ri, small mountain at Gokyo. We climb for around 30 minutes to reach here. You will notice the prayer flags here and the magnificent views of Cho you (8,153m), Gyachung Kang (7,922m), Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8,501m) and Makalu. Also, we shall enjoy Gokyo Lakes from here. We then return back to Gokyo. Overnight at lodge/teahouse or camp.

Day 13: Cross Renjo La (5340m) and trek to Nangpo Tsangpo – 3 to 4 hours walk

Our walk is mostly uphill as we are to cross Renjo La, our remarkable destination. Upon reaching here, you will be fascinated by the glowing beauty of Himalayas. We then trek down to Nangpo Tsangpo, a small Sherpa settlement. Overnight at lodge/teahouse or camp.

Day 14: Trek to Thame (3801m) – 5 to 6 hours walk

We wander through the rhododendron forest and pass by beautiful village with mesmerizing views of Thamserku and Kusum Kangru. We then walk downhill to reach Thame. Overnight at lodge/teahouse.

Day 15: Rest at Thame

Here, we take rest and hike nearby surroundings. The route to Nangpa La pass is visible from here. Overnight at lodge/teahouse.

Day 16: Trek to Namche

We trace back our journey to Namche catching the final glimpses of the Mount Everest here. Overnight at lodge/teahouse.

Day 17: Trek to Lukla

As our trekking event is near to an end, we move past through Khumbu hills to reach Lukla. Overnight at lodge/teahouse.

Day 18: Fly to Kathmandu

Early morning, we catch our flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

(Note: The above itinerary is a just a guideline. Itineraries are subject to change to suit the local conditions and other factors. At times the flights may either be delayed or even cancelled for a day or more, mostly because of bad weather. At such condition, we recommend our guests to have one extra day in Kathmandu post trek.)
