Get ready to step onto the magnetic journey to the South Face of Annapurna I through our 13 days Annapurna Sanctuary Trek package. Annapurna Sanctuary trek is very popular as it can easily be accessed from Pokhara with lots of scenic beauty and splendid mountain views. The trek covers pleasant hike through the upper northern Annapurna Conservation Area to the foot of Mt. Annapurna (world’s 10th highest mountain – 8,091m/26,545ft) that passes through diverse Nepalese landscapes, culture and wildlife. The gateway to this trek is amazing that is squeezed between the Hiunchuli and Machhapuchare peaks with Modi Khola lying at its head. You’ll enjoy this trek as it comprises of natural amphitheater encircled by massive snow massifs around the peaks, especially Annapurna.

TRIP DETAILS

Day 01: Arrival

Upon arrival to Kathmandu Airport, our representative will drop you to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02 – Kathmandu to Potana (1990m) – 2 to 3 hours walk

After having early morning breakfast, we take flight to Pokhara and then drive to Phedi which takes around 30 minutes. From Phedi, we climb to Dhampus and further to Potana. Overnight at lodge or camp.

Day 03: Potana to Landrung (1646m) – 3 to 4 hours walk

Starting our trek by descending through the trail and then climbing up through Gurung villages, we witness the appealing glimpses of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and more mountains. We then arrive at Landrung which facilitates with lodges and other basic needs for trekkers. Overnight at lodge or camp.

Day 04: Landrung to Chhomrong (1950m) – 3 to 4 hours walk

We descend through the trails for around 10 minutes after which the trail splits; the first one goes towards north to Chhomrong and the sanctuary whereas the next route goes downhill to Ghandrung. Our destination is Chhomrong and we head towards after few hours walk. Overnight lodge or camp.

Day 05: Chhomrong to Bamboo Lodge (2340m) – 5 to 6 hours walk

As we are to move through Chhomrong River, our trail descends first and them climbs to Kuldi that consists of Annapurna Conservation Area Project Office, some information center and checkpoints. Passing by with the pleasant views around, we reach Bamboo Lodge. Overnight lodge or camp.

Day 06: Bamboo lodge to Himalayan Hotel (2900m) – 5 to 6 hours walk

We now climb through Bamboo and continue our trek through the rhododendron forests to Dobhan. From here, we walk further to Himalayan Hotel. Overnight lodge or camp.

Day 07: Himalayan Hotel to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3720m) – 4 to 5 hours walk

Moving from Himalayan Hotel, our next destination is Machhapuchhre Base Camp. We walk uphill almost all day to reach the base camp and catch stunning views of white capped mountains. Overnight at camp.

Day 08: Visit Annapurna Base Camp (4095m) and return – 3 to 4 hours walk

The climb towards Annapurna Base Camp that takes about 2 hours. We start early as the cloud and the wind makes hard to pass the trail in the noon. We pass through few shepherd’s huts viewing the south face of Annapurna, also many other peaks like Tharpu Chuli (5663m) and 360 degree view of the entire sanctuary is observed. We can also observe some birds, Himalayan weasels and pika. Overnight at lodge or camp.

Day 09: Machapuchare Base Camp to Dobang (2400m) – 4 to 5 hours walk

The trail is much easier than that of previous days as we move downhill through forests and scanty villages to Dobang. Overnight at lodge or camp.

Day 10: Dobang to Chhomrong (1950m) – 4 to 5 hours

Retracing our trekking trails, we walk downhill watching the entire villages and rhododendron forests to Chhomrong. Overnight at lodge or camp.

Day 11: Chhomrong to Tadapani (2300m) – 4 to 5 hours trek

Capturing the full view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, we walk downhill then uphill to reach Tadapani, a small Gurung village. Overnight lodge or camp.

Day 12: Tadapani to Ghandrung (1970m) – 2 to 3 hours walk

We move our way to Ghandrung, a big Gurung village which is the second largest Gurung settlement in Nepal (Siklis is the largest Gurung settlement). The village has neatly traced fields and many hotels around. Overnight at lodge or camp.

Day 13: Ghandrung to Nayapul to Pokhara and back to Kathmandu 

We start by descending through the trails to Modi Khola after which it ascends high above the river through stone paved trails. We then reach Birethanti and walk for another 20 minutes to reach Nayapul. From here, we drive to Pokhara and take our evening flight to Kathmandu. Upon arriving Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your corresponding Hotel.

Note: At times the flights may either be delayed or even cancelled for a day or more, mostly because of bad weather. At such condition, we recommend our guests to have one extra day in Kathmandu post trek.
