One of the country’s most popular treks is Annapurna Trek that takes you around the entire Annapurna ridge to the Zenith at Thorong La Pass (5,416m/17,769ft). This spectacular 19 days trek will lead you through world’s deepest Kali Gandaki Gorge along with the beautiful Annapurna I that rises 8091m to the east and magnificent Dhaulagiri that hovers at 8167m to the west. You will embark through the green lowlands and ascend to the cooler arid highlands. You will get a chance to enthrall yourself with the fabulous mountain views from the top of Poon Hill (3,210m/10,531ft) once you cross the highest pass, Thorong La on the way from Manang to Muktinath. So, get ready to explore the cultural variation of Nepal and admire the amazing breath-taking scenarios of Annapurna region.

TRIP DETAILS

Day 01: Arrival

Upon arrival to Kathmandu Airport, our representative will drop you to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Besisahar/Marsyangdi (820m)

After having breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Besisahar/Marsyangdi. It takes about six hours to reach Besisahar and we walk for around 15 minutes to reach Marsyangdi. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 03: Marsyangdi to Bahundanda (1311m) – 4 to 5 hours walk

We start our trek by crossing River Marsyangdi. Following the river, we reach Nadi Khola and climb uphill to Bahundanda.  Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 04: Bahundanda to Tal (1646m) – 3 to 4 hours walk

From Bahundanda, we descend to cross the bridge at Syange and climb through the narrow canyon. Further, we cross a suspension bridge at Chamcha and continue our trail to reach Tal, the gateway to Manang and comprises of many Tibetan style houses, beautiful flat meadow and waterfall. Overnight at camp.

Day 05: Tal to Temung Meadows (2111m) – 4 to 5 hours walk

Ascending through the east bank of Marsyangdi River via the major gorge, the trail towards Temung begins. On our way, we cross the west side of river at Dharapani and to the south of Thonje, we see a confluence of Marsyangdi and Dudh Khola rivers. Moving further, we climb Namum Bhangyang and Temung Meadows which are captivating lush pastures. From here, excellent views of Larkya La Pass and Manaslu can be observed. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 06: Temung Meadows to Kupar (2591m) – 5 to 6 hours walk

Starting from Temung, we move past Tenchok and walk downhill to Kupar; it lies just above the junction of Marsyangdi and Nar River. The place is fantastic as the Himalayan rain shadow can be observed. Juniper is in greater percentage here and fields with barley, hardy crops and buckwheat potatoes farming is seen. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 07: Kupar to Pisang (3345m) – 5 to 6 hours walk

Passing through Chame, the head-quarter of Manang district, we cross a river to find the horticultural apple farm at Brathang. We then start ascending towards Pisang valley which is beautiful from the beginning. The the main Himalayan range between Annapurna II and Manaslu appears spectacular from here. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 08: Pisang to Braga (3475m) – 5 to 6 hours walk

Following the easy pathways through forests and then a small ridge, we continue the trekking to upper Manang valley. The valleys’ southern part is covered by Annapurna II, III, IV, and Gangapurna and the glacier to the west. To the north is Thorang La pass. Capturing the stunning views, we pass Hongde airstrip and Sabji Khola and enter Braga. The village comprises of several monasteries and excellent capsites field. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 09: Braga rest day/Local exploration. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 10: Braga to Chakadunga (3963m) – 5 to 6 hours walk

The trail now ascends to Thorang La pass with the spectacular views of Annapurna II, II and IV. Upon reaching Chakadunga, we can capture many beautiful campsites. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 11: Chakadunga to Thorang Phedi (4405m) – 5 to 6 hours walk

The trekking today is full of mesmerizing views and we walk through the foot of the hills with steep climb uphill surrounded by the massive Annapurna peaks. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 12: Thorang Phedi to Muktinath (3802m) – 7 to 8 hours walk

Feeling the windy morning, we start early morning to cross the Thorang La pass at 5416m. The trekking is a tiring one but is indeed the best as we pass through the highest pass that calls for outstanding views of Annapurna, Gangapurna and Yak Gawa peaks. Descending from Thorang La, we can capture mount Dhaulagiri. Walking over the steep descent, we arrive at Muktinath, the most sacred Hindu temple. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 13: Muktinath to Jomsom (2713m) – 5 to 6 hours walk

The trail goes easy and we walk with the massive peaks surrounding us till we reach Jomsom, which lies in the upper Kali Gandaki valley and is connected with regular flights from Pokhara. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 14: Jomsom to Marpha (2667m) – 2 to 3 hours walk.

We continue descending through the valleys passing by some tea shops to Syang. Further, we reach Marpha, a small village with charming environment around. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 15: Parpha to Kalopani (2530m) – 5 to 6 hours walk

We start trekking through the small village of Larjung, cross the stream ahead and further trek to Khobang offering us the great stunning views of mount Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Nilgiri (7061m).  Walking further, we arrive at Kalopani. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 16: Kalopani to Tatopani (1189m) – 4 to 5 hours walk

We descend through the Kali Gandaki gorge, the deepest gorge in the world. We can eye on the 360 degree panorama Dhaulagiri, the Nilgiris, Fang and Annapurna I peaks. Capturing the views, we walk downhill to arrive at Tatopani. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 17: Tatopani to Ghorepani (2885m) – 5 to 6 hours walk

The trail today climbs uphill to Shika that consists of a typical Magar village with many shops and hotels. Another gentle climb from here takes us to Ghara and then Ghorepani which offers captivating views of Dhauligiri I, Tukuche, Nilgiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Tarke Kang. The early morning trek to Poon Hill is yet another trekking milestone to witness these charming nature beauties. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 18: Ghorepani to Tikhedunga (1577m) – 3 to 4 hours walk.

From Ghorepani, we descend to Ulleri along the cultivated fields from where the trail goes down to Banthanti, which is a settlement of hotels in a forest and a great place to be at. We further move to Tikhedhunga. Overnight at camp or lodge.

Day 19: Tikedunga to Nayapul to Pokhara and back to Kathmandu

A short day trek to Nayapul where we will take our way back to Kathmandu via Pokhara. From Nayapul, we drive to Pokhara that takes around 45 min drive and then take our flights to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your Hotel.

Note: At times the flights may either be delayed or even cancelled for a day or more, mostly because of bad weather. At such condition, we recommend our guests to have one extra day in Kathmandu post trek.
